Tucked into the rolling hills north of Arezzo, Azienda Agricola Cincinelli sits within a natural amphitheatre of vines, olive groves, and woodland, stretching between the villages of Bibbiano, Botti, and Cenina. At elevations of 200 to 350 metres, this quiet corner of the Chianti Colli Aretini offers a microclimate and soils perfectly suited to expressive, characterful wines.
Life here moves with the land. The estate covers around 50 hectares, with vineyards woven between olive groves and pockets of wild terrain, encouraging biodiversity and balance. Farming has long been organic in practice, with a deep respect for the natural rhythms of the vineyard shaping every decision.
Sangiovese is at the heart of the estate, thriving in these conditions and forming the backbone of Cincinelli’s wines, structured, vibrant, and unmistakably Tuscan. Alongside it, small plantings of Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon bring breadth, while the historic Mammolo grape keeps a vital link to the region’s heritage. In the groves, traditional Tuscan olive varieties... Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo, and Pendolino complete the picture.
The story begins in 1940, when Siro Cincinelli first planted vines here with quiet determination. For decades, the wines were sold in bulk, the focus firmly on the land rather than the label. That changed in 2016, when Marco Cincinelli, inspired by his grandfather’s legacy, began bottling under his own name, bringing a new level of care, identity, and ambition to the estate.
Today, the wines reflect both past and present: rooted in tradition, guided by instinct, and shaped by a landscape that does much of the talking.
