Costa Toscana Birillo

A radiant expression of Tuscany’s coastal vineyards, Birillo from Tenuta Marsiliana, Principe Corsini, is a red that marries elegance and vibrancy in every glass. With its intense ruby red colour and captivating violet reflections, Birillo immediately draws you in. The nose opens with a delightful blend of small dark fruits—think blackcurrant and mulberry—along with the sweetness of strawberry jam and a lively hint of Mediterranean herbs. This combination brings a refreshing aromatic profile that is both intriguing and vivid.

On the palate, Birillo bursts with freshness. The first sip reveals juicy fruit, with a soft, velvety texture that’s perfectly centred around the ripe berries. Notes of balsamic and a subtle toasted finish round out the experience, leaving a clean, satisfying impression. It's a wine designed to be approachable yet full of character, with clear influences from the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea, and offers a breezy alternative to more structured Super Tuscans.

Crafted from 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, Birillo undergoes a meticulous winemaking process. The grapes are harvested manually and fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts, followed by maceration on the skins for 15 days to extract its bold colour and structure. The wine then matures for 12 to 14 months in 500-litre French oak tonneaux, adding subtle depth without overpowering its natural fruitiness.
