Why did the monks of the middle ages work a vineyard in one location and not in the spot next to it? Why, hundreds of years later is the wine from that location much more profound? Because everything is there, the true sense of terroir. Jeremie Huchet has a long family history in wine dating back to the  French papal middle ages, so to say wine is in his blood would be an understatement. Having fully taken over the estate in 2001, there are now 64 hectares under vine, ⅓ of which is certified organic, Jeremie’s shrewd winery infrastructural investments are paying dividends; lots of concrete, glass lined concrete and cubist eggs amongst other things. This manifestation of the Melon de Bourgogne grape, one of the primary grapes of the Loire, is grown on soil consisting of clay, silt and gneiss (like a higher temperature higher pressured schist  with a decent amount of minerals in its midst). The wine is aged on its lees for 6 months for added texture and body which enhances the fresh, zesty fruit and long saline finish so representative of the terroir. Crisp, bone dry with just a hint at gentle effervescence. Al fresco seafood dining with a chilled bottle of La Pecherie? ‘Nuff said. Oh it’s from the Loire just south of Nantes in full receipt of Atlantic influences. Salinity anyone?

Gift Wrapping & Notes

Please let us know if you would like a specific note included with your order. We tend to wrap all bottles in paper and reuse wine cases for shipping to keep our carbon footprint low.

Delivery Times

We will look to have your delivery with you within 3 working days of receiving the order but please ask if you need it by a certain date and we'll do our best.

Vintages

We will endeavour to deliver vintages as advertised but they often change faster than we can update (we're pretty slow). So, again, it may be wise to confirm before ordering if you're in need of something particular. Please note: Some bottle images may not show the current vintage.

Surcharges

Surcharges often apply to deliveries outside mainland England so wise to confirm before you order. Indeed, Northern Ireland is beyond us unless shipping charges agreed beforehand.
