The French love their long titles. The Tardy family originates from Flagey-Echezeaux, slap bang in Burgundy between Dijon and Beaune. Through various complicated leasing agreements and partnerships Victor Tardy got his hands on his first plot in the Cotes De Nuits from Domaine Camuzet as a reward for his fieldwork in the vineyard. This was 1945. Jean’s son Guillaume took over responsibility for the family winery in 2003 after a stint in Australia and Domaine Tardy now has 4.5 hectares of vineyards in the Cotes D’Or. This Hautes Côtes De Nuits Cuvée uses Pinot Noir grapes sourced from high altitude 45 year old vines grown on eroded limestone and marly subsoils with just the right combination of sun and shade. Tardy winemaking is traditional, with the aim of producing wines with the purest fruit by combining the finesse and elegance of Pinot Noir with respect to the exceptional terroir. Give it to me Maelie: light, elegant, balanced, fragrant, juicy red fruits and savoury leaf and supple tannins with subtle mineral earth tones on the finish. No relation to Florida’s John Tardy I expect.

Gift Wrapping & Notes

Please let us know if you would like a specific note included with your order. We tend to wrap all bottles in paper and reuse wine cases for shipping to keep our carbon footprint low.

Delivery Times

We will look to have your delivery with you within 3 working days of receiving the order but please ask if you need it by a certain date and we'll do our best.

We will endeavour to deliver vintages as advertised but they often change faster than we can update (we're pretty slow). So, again, it may be wise to confirm before ordering if you're in need of something particular. Please note: Some bottle images may not show the current vintage.

Surcharges often apply to deliveries outside mainland England so wise to confirm before you order. Indeed, Northern Ireland is beyond us unless shipping charges agreed beforehand.

If something is wrong with your order or it's not what you expected, please get in touch and we'll sort it out. We'll look to rectify any mistakes where possible.
