Castro Ventosa El Castro de Valtuille Barrica comes from Bierzo in north-west Spain, the spiritual home of the Mencía grape. The estate has been run by the Pérez family since 1752 and today is guided by the legendary Raúl Pérez, one of Spain’s most influential and visionary winemakers.
This bottling shows why Bierzo has become such an exciting region: deep, perfumed aromas of blackberry, violets, and spice lead into a silky palate of dark fruit, smoke, and earthy minerality. The 12 months in French oak bring subtle structure and savoury complexity without overshadowing the purity of fruit.
Elegant yet full of personality, it’s a wine that reflects both the character of Bierzo’s old-vine vineyards and the thoughtful touch of Raúl Pérez.

Shipping should be automatically adjusted depending on your postcode. Free delivery covers all Liverpool postcodes, and the following Cheshire postcodes: CH41-49, CH60-63.

Vintages
We will endeavour to deliver vintages as advertised but they often change faster than we can update (we're pretty slow). So, again, it may be wise to confirm before ordering if you're in need of something particular. Please note: Some bottle images may not show the current vintage.
Surcharges
Surcharges often apply to deliveries outside mainland England so wise to confirm before you order. Indeed, Northern Ireland is beyond us unless shipping charges agreed beforehand.
