Domaine Plou, situated along the scenic banks of the River Loire, has remained in the hands of the same family since 1508, just prior to Leonardo da Vinci's arrival at the nearby Château d’Amboise. Over five centuries, winemaking knowledge has been carefully passed down, creating a profound bond with the land and its unique characteristics.

Today, the estate covers 75 hectares, where Mathieu and Guillaume Plou continue the tradition, producing wines that embody the distinctive essence of this historic winemaking region. The vineyards thrive in flinty clay and clay-limestone soils, which excel at retaining moisture—crucial as summers become increasingly hot and arid.

This cuvée, named 'Tuffeau' after the soft white stone prevalent in the local vineyards, offers a crisp, mineral-driven profile emblematic of this Loire region. Made from 100% Chardonnay, the wine undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle, yielding a semi-sparkling wine with delicate, persistent bubbles. It is sealed with a crown cap, giving it a contemporary and accessible appeal.
