The benchmark wine of the Remelluri estate, Reserva 2016 is a true expression of the rugged, high-altitude vineyards that surround the historic monastery of Toloño in Rioja Alavesa. Crafted predominantly from Tempranillo, with elegant supporting roles from Garnacha and Graciano and a whisper of the traditional white grapes Viura and Malvasía, this cuvée reflects the complexity of the region’s classic field blends.
After hand-harvesting and careful selection, the wine is aged for 17 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, then allowed to rest and harmonise in the estate’s cellars for at least three years before release. This patient maturation lends poise and polish to its naturally concentrated fruit.
In the glass, the 2016 shows a deep, vivid colour and a layered bouquet of wild red berries, black cherry, and plum intertwined with notes of Mediterranean herbs, forest floor, sweet spice and a subtle touch of cedar. The palate is refined yet powerful: fine-grained tannins give structure, lively acidity brings balance, and savoury undertones of tobacco and earth carry through to a long, persistent finish. A wine of depth and freshness, this is a classic Rioja built to reward cellaring, yet already offers beautiful drinking.

Shipping should be automatically adjusted depending on your postcode. Free delivery covers all Liverpool postcodes, and the following Cheshire postcodes: CH41-49, CH60-63.

Vintages
We will endeavour to deliver vintages as advertised but they often change faster than we can update (we're pretty slow). So, again, it may be wise to confirm before ordering if you're in need of something particular. Please note: Some bottle images may not show the current vintage.
Surcharges
Surcharges often apply to deliveries outside mainland England so wise to confirm before you order. Indeed, Northern Ireland is beyond us unless shipping charges agreed beforehand.
