Philipponnat 1522 Extra Brut Champagne is a tribute to over 500 years of history, celebrating the remarkable legacy of the Philipponnat family. Founded in 1522 by Avril De Philipponnat, the family’s commitment to their unique terroirs has remained steadfast. Each vintage of this Champagne captures the essence of the house’s meticulously preserved vineyards, where hand hoeing and horse ploughing ensure that the delicate soils remain intact for generations to come.
The vineyards are nestled on the chalky, limestone-rich soils of Champagne, which offer perfect drainage and contribute to the grapes' remarkable ability to ripen evenly. This rich terroir—formed over millions of years—acts as a natural reservoir, regulating water flow and imparting a harmonious balance of acidity, ripeness, and aromatic complexity in the final wine.
The 1522 Extra Brut Champagne is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, aged for eight years on its lees. The result is an exceptionally refined wine that delivers an intense floral nose, with delicate notes of elderflower and violet. On the palate, expect a symphony of blackcurrant, black cherry, and dried fruit, with a touch of almond and candied nuances

Shipping should be automatically adjusted depending on your postcode. Free delivery covers all Liverpool postcodes, and the following Cheshire postcodes: CH41-49, CH60-63.
