From the sun-drenched vineyards of La Consulta in Mendoza's Uco Valley, this exceptional Malbec is a testament to the expertise of Bodega Polo. Under the guidance of winemaker Tomás Stahringer, the estate has revitalised a historic winery in Luján de Cuyo, blending tradition with innovation to produce wines of remarkable character.
The Herencia La Palabra Malbec is crafted from 20-year-old vines situated at an altitude of 1,050 meters above sea level. The grapes are handpicked in small 17 kg cases to ensure optimal quality. The winemaking process involves fermentation in concrete vats, followed by extended maceration to extract maximum flavour and colour. The wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, with a further 12 months in bottle, allowing it to develop complexity and depth.
In the glass, the wine displays an intense red colour with violet hues. The nose is rich with aromas of ripe plums, violets, and subtle balsamic notes. On the palate, it is elegant and full-bodied, with a harmonious balance of fruit character and oak-derived flavours. The finish is long and complex, leaving a lasting impression.
