Au Long Cours carries the feeling of a journey taken with patience, steady, considered, and confident in where it’s headed. There’s nothing rushed here; instead, it unfolds like something designed to travel well through time, revealing more of itself with every step along the way.

From the Grandlieu terroir in the Loire Valley, this is a 100% Chardonnay shaped by both fruit maturity and oak influence. At Domaine Les Hautes Noëlles, the grapes are harvested at full ripeness before undergoing pneumatic pressing and settling. The juice is then transferred directly into 450-litre oak barrels, where fermentation and ageing take place over a minimum of 12 months allowing structure, texture, and integration to develop naturally over time.

In the glass, the result is a wine where wood and fruit are carefully interwoven rather than competing. The aromatics are layered: ripe citrus sits alongside gentle oak influence, bringing both brightness and depth. On the palate, there’s a rich, rounded entry,generous and textured, before a line of freshness lifts everything towards a clean, citric finish.

Chardonnay here feels broad yet composed, with oak providing shape rather than dominance. It’s a wine of balance and proportion, where ripeness and restraint meet in quiet harmony.
