Romitorio Morellino di Scansano
The wine is ruby red in colour with a complex nose with hints of crunchy blackberries and raspberries, and elegant touches of sweet spices, closing on a balsamic note. In the mouth it has great personality with a softness complemented by good acidity and tannin, leading to a fruity and intense finish. The area, notable for its unspoiled nature and rolling hills, lies 150 meters above sea level and only 20 kilometers from the Tyrrhenian Sea. These factors led Sandro Chia to purchase an estate in Scansano in 1999 in order to apply the know-how gained in Montalcino with Sangiovese to a new territory in Tuscany.
